Welcome to the Home Page of

Asean Explorer is a leading specialist in Far Eastern travel. The company has been providing
holidays for 13 years and our team really cares as much about your holiday as you do.
That's why have personally selected every resort/destination, every hotel and every tour on this website.

We are offering quality together with value for money and personal knowledge.
Our senior staff travel extensively in the region and we make sure that all people joining
the team have experienced the Far Eastern way of life and have the opportunity to keep
their knowledge up to date with regular visits. Thus, a combined knowledge of more than
forty years of experiencing the Orient is available to try and make sure that your holiday is a memorable delight.

Golfers will be delighted to discover that Thailand has far more to offer than ornate temples,
exotic sights and exciting night life!  Golf is rapidly becoming a 'National Sport' and you will find the phrase
"paradise on earth" equally applies to the wonderful golfing opportunities available today, especially
on the eastern seaboard where Pattaya is fast becoming a golfing Mecca!  We are able to offer everyone
the opportunity of combining a wonderful relaxed holiday with some of the best golf to be had in the world.
So whether you are a 28 handicap player or are playing off scratch you will find a warm welcome awaiting you in Thailand.

With the backing and active encouragement of Turismo Thai, that we further the professional supply of
ground handling services, to niche markets such as golfers, divers, bowlers and other interests, dogoto
have established new offices, in a complex built in the grounds of a lovely garden, on Naklua Road Soi 23.
Khun Maew, Asean Explorerfs local office manager has moved in, along with Nick and Roger, and we will be
providing new contact telephone numbers with all paperwork. Once we are completely established, many of you,
will be meeting our other new staff, with their dogoto uniforms in the coming months, and they will be able to
offer a much wider choice of destination tours and activities.

With the establishment of dogoto, we are able to immediately resolve the Airport to Pattaya to
Airport transfer route problem (see March newsletter). All drivers are now instructed to follow Motorway 7,
known as the Bangkok to Chonburi Motorway, and all tolls are included in their payment. By all means tip a good driver,
if you like his service, but under no circumstances should you pay any money for the motorway tolls.
We hope that over the coming season, you get the chance to use our new services, and we would welcome any
feedback, or criticism, which you might have.

Loy Krathong

We are pleased to attach our Loy Krathong Festival group flier, based on the usual Thai International or
China Airlines flights (we cannot currently hold groups on EVA Air or Phuket Airlines ? neither of them fly on
our dates either!), which we are expecting to sell out quite quickly, if last yearfs demand is anything to go by!!
If by any chance the flier is not with your newsletter, please let us know.

Christmas 2004

We are also pleased to attach our Christmas Holiday Package flier, as promised in March. Please
note that ALL these holidays are for fully-bonded 14 night stays, and outbound & return dates
cannot be remixed. You will note that we have also included package costs for several of our e
newf hotels (see elsewhere for details), but these can be adjusted slightly, within the 14 nights and
changing any internal flights, to make two-centre holidays i.e. Bangkok 3 & Phuket 11 (subject to hotel availability),
and of course, any holiday can have local golf packages included. Please call us,
and we will endeavour to provide exactly what you require

AIRLINE NEWS

The frequency & choice of flights to Bangkok, both direct & indirect, are becoming better and better!
Further to the news in the last Newsletter, regarding our EVA Air contract, we have now received
contract rates for two alternative airlines:- Phuket Airlines, whom, by the time you read this will
have commenced flying 3 ? times weekly from London Gatwick direct to Bangkok, on Thursday, Saturday &
Sunday at 15:00, arriving at 07:55 next day. The return flights are the same days, departing Bangkok at 01:00,
and arriving Gatwick at 10:00 same day, re-fuelling in Dubai, en route.
(We take back all we said in previous newsletter!!!)

Flight-only introductory fares start from around 385.00, plus taxes, for a 3-month economy class ticket,
return changeable for 25.00 locally, for 01 July ? 31 October 2004, and 11 January ? 31 March 2005.
Phuket Air also provide a Premium Economy Class (which we assume is similar to EVA Air, or it could be the
Business Class cabin, with Economy service), available from 730.00 plus taxes. Full Business Class starts at
1200.00 plus taxes. All Phuket Air flights can of course be incorporated in full packages.

We have also received fare contracts for a Alitalia/China Airlines code share service, from London Heathrow, via Rome
to Bangkok. Fares here start around 425.00 plus tax, and depart Heathrow at 07:05, into Rome at 10:35, with
the onwards flight to Bangkok departing 13:40, arriving 05:30. Return timings are 03:25 ? 10:10 & 14:50 - 16:40,
(so similar to CI via AMS) on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday & Sunday, both ways.

On the subject of China Airlines Amsterdam service, they have also re-graded their Business Class upgrade (again!!)
to a full business cabin/service, with Economy class connecting flights, with no entitlement to airport lounge facilities,
and only 20 Kgs luggage allowance, and increased the price, so it is now as stated in our tariff - 395.00 return.
Concerning the problems with golf clubs on the UK connecting flights (specifically a couple of departure airports
sub-contracting checking in), we have established that, as long as the baggage allowance is NOT exceeded, you
should NOT be charged any excess baggage charges imposed for irregular shaped items. For further information,
visit www.klm.com and click through to eBaggage Informationf.

Unfortunately, due to an upturn in world oil prices, many airlines are introducing a fuel surcharge to cover their
increased costs ? these are shown separately on airline tickets as an additional eYQf or eYRf tax, and are not government taxes.
At the time of writing, Thai International are surcharging by US$ 15 per sector (17 round trip); China Airlines & KLM each
independently, for a total of 12 (four sectors); EVA Air 7 : Phuket Airlines have yet to decide if/what they are surcharging.

Golf Tours 2004/05

We have pared down the numerous golf tours, which Coco Golf had organised previously,
(and invariably had no seats held anyway!) to a much more manageable 6 fully-inclusive, fully-bonded tours
(1 per month from October to March) and we have confirmed seats & hotels allotted for every tour advertised.
If you require any further details, we do have a printed sheet flier, which will be included with this
newsletter for all golfing clients, but can be requested separately if you donft receive it.
